I love school and library visits! I write both middle grade and teen fiction,
and can tailor presentations on writing to any grade level.
I hold an MFA in creative writing from The New School and enjoy
discussing the nuts and bolts of good fiction, how a book goes from paper to publication, and ways aspiring writers can pursue their craft.
For schools, I can do up to three presentations in one day. To get the most out of our time
together, I do recommend that students are familiar with at least one of my books before I
visit. However, if that isn’t possible, I will work with you
on creating an educational presentation for your students. Read this for tips on how to prepare for a school visit.
For libraries, I'm available for readings, book talks, book clubs, and other activities.

Quotes from Students:
"It was so cool that Caroline came to visit. I had no idea how much went into becoming a real writer, but now I am going to try to read more books with the eyes of a professional writer," Adele, grade 8.
“She helped me understand exactly what happens when you want to write and publish a book." - 5th grader
"I loved hearing her advice about writing through writer's block. It's nice to know that even real writers have to make themselves write sometimes," Hailley, grade 8.
I really enjoyed Ms. Hickey's visit because she gave us good information about being an author and what you should do when you're an author, and her books. I LOVED Cassie Was Here! It was one of my favorite books! - Isabella, grade 6.
